Welcome to the Website of the

KIWANIS CLUB of GLENDALE, NEW YORK

IN MEMORIUM

This week was a very sad week for the Glendale Club. Our beloved former Sky Pilot, Reverend David Stevens, passed away on July 26th. George Schwille wrote a beautiful obituary, and we share it here.

We also lost Lorraine Miller, wife of long-time member and friend Bob Miller. She was a beautiful woman who gave so much to her church and her community. She will be missed.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

On Tuesday, Glendale Kiwanis joined the 104th Precinct at Juniper Valley Park for the National Night Out. It was a beautiful night in the park, and literally hundreds (if not thousands) of residents of Middle Village, Glendale, Maspeth and surrounding areas turned out for a great night of music, food and entertainment, celebrating the Police Department for all they do to keep us safe. Glendale setup our grills and cooked and served close to 1500 hot dogs (donated by the Greater Ridgewood Youth Council), and gave out a pallet of water bottles to everyone in the park. Our "Worker Bees" were out in full force to get the job done. Great job, everyone. Pictures are in the Gallery.

IRI WALKABOUT

Sadly, the annual cookout with the residents of Independent Residences was cancelled due to a threatening weather forecast. Hopefully, the event can be rescheduled, so everyone can enjoy this great afternoon in Cunningham Park.
