Welcome to the Website of the

KIWANIS CLUB of GLENDALE, NEW YORK

BIRTHDAY AND BUSINESS

This past Thursday, we had probably the biggest B&B meeting ever. We celebrated the birthdays of our members born in November as usual. We observed Veterans Day with a meaningful program presented by George Schwille. We had Bobby Tolley and his family as guests. He is the brother of fallen Firefighter William Tolley, who we honored at Community Day. Our club presented a check to the Tolley Foundation and the Fires and Drums Foundation from the proceeds of Community Day. AND, we inducted FIVE new members into our club to start what looks to be an outstanding 65th year. Pictures are in the Gallery.

VETERANS DAY PARADE

We were honored to participate in the Middle Village Veterans Day Parade. Despite the damp weather, the community turned out to honor the men and women who served our country. After the march down Metropolitan Ave, we attended the ceremonies honoring the Grand Marshall, WWII Veteran Joseph Martino, honoree Hassan Sharief Jones, a US Army Veteran who died tragically in a car accident after serving in Kuwait and Iraq, and our own PP Dave Fitzgerald, who accepted an award on behalf of George Werst Funeral Home, who were honored for providing free burial services with full military honors for indigent veterans.
